Good morning, I'm a naval designer in Rome, Italy, and inventor and CEO of MONOTRICAT srl (SME) for promotion of innovative patented Monotricat naval hull high hydrodynamic efficiency and saving energy at least 20% (www.monotricat.net) My patents have the purpose of increasing the efficiency of naval hulls up to 40-45 meters long and that operate at medium-high speeds but at the same time considerably reducing the main component of resistance: viscous friction, guaranteeing and increasing all the safety and comfort standards that are required of a naval unit. My international patent for the innovative Monotricat naval hull is able to reduce consumption by at least 20%, thus achieving a substantial management economy with a significant reduction in pollution, as well as noise pollution, and reduction of wave formation.
Since my first patent I have found confirmation of my ideas in the experimentation conducted at the highest level at the INM (Institute of Marine Engineering) of the Italian National Research Council which certified the reduction of resistance, and also at the Naval Department of 'University of Trieste with Prof. Igor Zotti who promoted my ideas as co-author in many international congresses.
Since my research has always been self-financed, my micro-Company Monotricat Srl (SME) created by only two subjects to promote the patents of the Monotricat hull, is not able to carry out studies and research such as to ensure boats / ships an even greater economy of the ratio payload / power spent. It should also be considered that the C.F.D. (Computational Fluid Dymanics) for the study of boats are not yet fully programmed for a simulation of the behavior of a ship proceeding in a partially turbulent flow. This problem was highlighted with the participation in the European program PRACE-SHAPE carried out in HPC Open-Foam at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm to verify the scalability between classical and computerized experimentation. Currently these programs tentatively tend to meet the needs of this specific research but are very expensive to adapt the program to the specific study, and have a cost equal to the simulation tests par excellence such as those conducted in the Naval Tank.
As these costs are not sustainable for my micro-Company, I am looking for a partnership under the aegis of the European Community, possibly within the framework of European programs, to conduct this research which obviously also has a broad implication of innovation for the scientific community. For this reason, all members participating in the BluAct can be asked for their willingness to participate in this project within Europe.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope on your interest.
