Committee for Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination

By the decision of the Rector's Council of 10 April 2024, 22nd meeting, item 3, the Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee was established, in accordance with article 218 of Law 4957/2022 (Government Gazette 141/issue A'/21.07.2022).

The EIFKD has, in accordance with law 4957/2022 (article 218), the following responsibilities:

1. prepares action plans to promote and ensure substantive equality and the fight against discrimination in the educational, research and administrative processes of the institution and prepares an annual report, which it submits to the Senate and the Board of Directors,

2. recommends to the competent bodies measures to promote equality and combat discrimination, to address sexual harassment and all types of harassing behavior,

3. monitors and evaluates the progress of the implementation of the above measures and their results and recommends their modification, revision or supplementation,

4. provides information and training to members of the academic community on issues related to gender equality, LGBTQI individuals and the fight against all kinds of discrimination, addressing sexual harassment and all kinds of harassing behavior,

5. promotes the development of curricula and the holding of seminars and lectures that focus on the study of gender, LGBTQI individuals, the fight against discrimination and the treatment of sexual harassment and all kinds of harassing behavior,

6. promotes the preparation of studies and research on issues related to its field of competence,

7. records reports and complaints about incidents of discriminatory treatment and sexual harassment or harassment based on gender and forwards them to the competent bodies,

8. provides assistance to victims of discrimination, sexual harassment and harassing behavior when they report discriminatory treatment or harassment.
